2006 - In Summary
Wow, just realized that i did not blog for a year and 2006 was like a black hole. Lost in time and reality while I was trying to get my world back on track again.
Am back in Singapore after about 4 years and looking forward to settling into the life of an OL.
Summary of my life in 2006
Jan, Feb - Was visiting my ex-uni mates in Taiwan and of coz, gorging myself in fear that I will not be going back to Taiwan for a while. X'mas and New year was, as usual, a blast.
March - All hell broke loose when I recieved my thesis filled with requests for corrections. When I left Oz, no one in my uni told me that I had to correct my thesis so that the library will have the corrected copy. Final results will only be released upon the publication of the corrected thesis. When I left Oz in Dec, you can imagine me creating a bonfire from my thesis materials. I threw every scrape of paper away. With the thesis on my lap, I stared into space for a good 5 mins before picking up the phone to hound my supervisor.
April- zoom off to HK. Was selected to go for an interview there for a teaching position. Day one - out shopping. Day two - interview. Was pleasantly surprised that they were going to reimbursed me for my air tic and some expenses. Whooppeee free trip. spent the third day in lautau island. Love the vegetarian food there. Fourth day, kinda of made up my mind that i was not going to take up the job, if Im even selected in the first place. Just cannot imagine myself staying in HK for a long period of time.
May - Gotten a job in the commercial sector. result is out for my masters and i got a distinction. AM BLOODY HAPPY!!!! family is happy too. HK has accepted me. Starting applying for jobs in the areas I had passion for.
June - with the reimbursed money safe in my pocket, called HK to tell them i wont be accepting the position. SORRY!
Aug - made another trip down to taiwan for hols. Oh... how i miss TAIWAN. Found out that paradise motel is GONE.
OCT - Last day in the commerical sector. Had an instant bond with two of my collegues and was sad that we will no longer be working together. Left for BKK before embarking on my new life in Nov. Met up with my Thai friends - oh.. how i miss the wicked jokes and good company. Had a blast in Thailand.
Nov and Dec - X'mas was spent in Singapore for the first time in 8 years. All packed up for my China trip.
